Doing Business with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County

All of the departments of the Forest Preserve Disrict of DuPage County purchase required goods and services in conformance with Illinois state law, state regulation, DuPage County Purchasing Ordinance, related resolutions of the Board of Commissioners, and administrative policies. Requirements of less than $20,000 are made in accordance with established procedures for small-dollar purchases and informal quotations. Formal bids for purchases in excess of $20,000 are advertised in local newspapers and may be listed in the Current Bid Announcements section below. When a supplier is aware of a solicitation, they can contact the appropriate department indicated on the announcement to request that the bid document be mailed. The Forest Preserve Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

Current Bid and Proposal Announcements

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is currently seeking bids and proposals on the following projects:

• Structural Maintenance
  
  
  • Sealed bids for a project entitled "Oak Meadows Garden Room Window Replacement" will be received at the Structural Maintenance Blackwell Shop office of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, 29W400 Mack Rd., West Chicago, IL  60185 until 2:30 P.M. Local Time, Friday, August 22, 2008.  Bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud in the same location at 2:40 P.M. 
    
    Main components of work include:  Removal and replacement of windows, frames, and sills per bid specifications with Pella factory-aluminum-clad wood fixed-frame windows, and other work as noted in bid specification.  Contractor must provide labor, equipment and supplies, (as described in the bid packet). 
    
    Bids on all work of this contract shall be subject to the provisions of the "Illinois Prevailing Wage Act" (Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 48, Section 39S - 1-12).  A MANDATORY pre-bid walkthru will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Oak Meadows Golf Course Clubhouse, 900 Wood Dale Rd., Addison, IL 60101. 
    
    Consideration of contract award will be made by the District’s Board of Commissioners.  Specifications and bid forms may be obtained at the Structural Maintenance office at the above Mack Road address.  The Forest Preserve Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

  • Sealed bids will be received at the main office of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, 3 S 580 Naperville Road, Wheaton, Illinois, 60187-8761 until 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 8, 2008, and will be publicly opened at that time and location, for a project entitled "Alternative Fuel Station, Phase I Site Work, Blackwell Forest Preserve."
    
    Earthwork is a primary component of the overall project scope, which includes approximately 11,600 CY of earth excavation. Approximately 2,000 CY of excavated glacial outwash materials (aggregates) will be hauled to a designated spoil site at McDowell Grove Forest Preserve, which is approximately a 12-mile round trip, and approximately 3,600 CY of glacial outwash will need to be removed and disposed of by the Contractor.  Other components of work include 270 LF of reinforced concrete storm sewers (ranging in size from 12” to 18”-dia.), 700 tons of bituminous paving materials, 2 acres of site restoration and native seeding, and various other related items such as temporary erosion control measures.  The Contractor will be paid based on measured-in-place quantities of work and applicable contract unit prices.
    
    A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the project site, located near Warrenville on the north side of Mack Road, at the intersection with Williams Road, on Thursday, July 31st, at 11:00 AM. Consideration of contract award will likely be made on August 19, 2008. The work is to be substantially complete by November 1, 2008.
    
    Plans, specifications, and bid forms may be purchased on or after July 15, 2008 for $30.00 at the above address between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Mon. through Fri.  The Forest Preserve Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

  • Sealed bids for the purchase of uniforms will be received at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s Structural Maintenance Blackwell office located at 29W400 Mack Rd., West Chicago, Illinois  60185. Bids will be recieved until 2:30 p.m. on July 17, 2008, and opened at 2:35 p.m. on July 17, 2008, at the same location. 
    
    Consideration of awarding of the bids will be made at a Forest Preserve District Commission meeting.  Invitation to bid, specifications and bid forms may be obtained by contacting Wayne Miklautsch, Structural Maintenance Division Manager at (630) 876-5910.  The Forest Preserve Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.
